From The Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston.

Our Cups Runneth Over is a biannual exhibition and sale of contemporary ceramic
cups featuring the work of 33 artists from around the country. The exhibition attracts
the attention of regional and national collectors and has become an important
educational destination for students to learn about the various formal, conceptual
and technical approaches that ceramics allows. Sanam Emami, Head of the Pottery
Department at Colorado State University, Fort Collins has conceived a site-specific
installation that further explores her interest in the patterns of Iranian and Islamic art
and architecture. Emami will be offering a workshop at Harvard Ceramics, Tuesday,
November 13 at 5:00pm. For details: http://www.ofa.fas.harvard.edu/ceramics/

It’s been almost a month at Baltimore Clayworks and things are picking up.  There are a lot of good people in the studio and I feel like I’ve already known everybody for a long time.  To check out all of the artists click here.

Also take a look at this years Strictly Functional artists including myself by clicking here.

Two other ceramic websites I recommend Nice Cup Bro! and pppots

Enjoy the images of work in progress and the studio.

For almost a year now I have worked out of my apartment with some very successful outcomes. Recently my favorite person and closest peer, Bianka Groves, has moved in and started on her own work. Having just finished receiving her BFA from Corcoran College of Art & Design she has some exciting work happening. Take a minute to look at her website here @ biankagroves.com.

This coming week she is taking a workshop at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. I thought I would take the opportunity to photograph some of her work like this set of four nesting vessels bellow.
